Our firm represents a Brooklyn woman whose husband was brutally murdered by two men in their apartment. Four years earlier the decedent had been gunned down in his apartment building by drug dealers when he protested to them to stop selling in the building. After the shooting, our client’s husband testified against one of the dealers and helped in his prosecution. The murder was an apparent reprisal against him for his cooperation with law enforcement. The assailants gained entrance to the building through the negligence of the building owner, who allowed the locks on the entrance doors to remain broken over an extended period of time.
