Our firm represented a woman who was the victim of an internet predator. The predator, was impersonating a federal officer in order to dupe unsuspecting single woman searching for relationships on websites. The websites are designed for serious minded woman seeking romance and marriage. During his masquerade, the defendant led a secret double life. He was and apparently still is married with children and living on Long Island. In addition, he had the badge, raid jacket, flashing lights on his Dodge pickup truck and even a gun to reinforce his fraudulent charade. The victims of his deceit believed themselves to be in a monogamous relationship with him. Our client discovered his deception when she was contacted anonymously by another apparent victim. The principle of the firm, Michael S. Lamonsoff, Esq., along with the client appeared and was interviewed on CNN and MSNBC, national television broadcasts. He was also widely quoted in the print media.
